Good morning and welcome back to a new Tech Tip Tuesday. Today’s Tech Tip is going to be about weather alerts. Below you will find all of the things that we will talk about in today’s Tech Tip.
What are weather notifications?
How to turn on the weather app notifications?
How to set the notification to your area?
First, open your settings on your iPhone,>Next, go to the section that says Notifications,>Then, scroll down till you see the weather app icon.>Finally, click the toggle to on. If it’s already on you are good for the next step. you don’t have the location notification on yet. Please follow the next step to turn them on.
Next, we are going to talk about how to turn on the location notifications that you want to receive. First, open up the weather app on your phone.> Next, click on the 3 lines on the bottom right of your screen.>Then, a menu is going to appear with a search bar and a list of the locations that you already have. If you don’t see any locations list type the location that you are looking for in the search bar.>Then, click add at the top right of your screen.
Finally, we are going to talk about how to turn severe weather and next-hour precipitation. First, go back to the weather app.>Next, click on the 3 lines on the bottom right of your screen.>Then, a menu will appear.>Next, click on the 3 dots with a circle around them.>Finally, you should see the severe weather and next-hour precipitation toggles. Turn those on then you will start receiving notifications of any severe weather or next-hour precipitation in your area.
PLEASE NOTE - You can’t set these notifications in your area. They have to be assigned to the county or city next to you.
