Good morning and welcome back to a new Tech Tip Tuesday. Today’s Tech Tip will be talking about changing/pausing your rings.

What are the Apple Watch Activity Rings?

The Apple Watch Activity Rings are a visual representation of your daily activity goals, designed to help you stay active and healthy. There are three rings:

  • Move Ring (Red): This ring shows how many active calories you've burned throughout the day, Active calories are the ones you burn through movement, like walking, running, or even doing household chores

  • Exercise Ring (Green): This ring tracks the minutes of brisk activity you've completed. The goal is to complete at least 30 minutes of activity at or above a brisk walk each day

  • Stand Ring (Blue): This ring monitors how often you stand and move around for at least one minute during 12 different hours of the day It encourages you to reduce sedentary time and stay more active throughout the day

Closing all three rings every day is a fun way to stay motivated and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

What does the Red, Green and, Bule Rings stand for?

The Apple Watch has three activity rings, each represented by a different color, and each tracking a different aspect of your daily activity:

  1. Red Ring (Move): This ring shows the number of active calories you've burned throughout the day. It encourages you to stay active and move around.

  2. Green Ring (Exercise): This ring tracks the minutes of brisk activity you've done. The default goal is 30 minutes per day.

  3. Blue Ring (Stand): This ring monitors how often you stand up and move around during the day. The goal is to stand up and move around at least once every hour for at least one minute.

How to change your Daily Rings and set it for that specific day?

To change your daily activity ring goals on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.

  2. Tap on the Activity Rings.

  3. Tap anywhere on the rings that isn't an icon.

  4. Select Change Goals.

  5. Adjust your goals using the Digital Crown or by swiping up and down.

  6. Tap on the calendar icon in the top right corner.

  7. Tap Schedule.

  8. Select the day you want to change the goals for and adjust the goals accordingly.

This way, you can customize your daily activity goals for each specific day.

Closing all three rings each day can help you stay motivated and reach your fitness goals!

How to pause your Rings?

To pause your activity rings on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.

  2. Tap on your Activity rings.

  3. Tap the Chart icon in the top left corner.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Pause Rings.

  5. Select the duration for which you want to pause the rings. You can choose to pause for just today, a week, a month, or a custom length of time.

This way, you can take a break without losing your streaks!
